The ProStart Culinary program was developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to recruit and retain a skilled workforce. Over 35, 000 students nationwide are enrolled in ProStart. The program is a 360-hour culinary curriculum taken as an elective class in high school. Academic instruction is supplemented by a 400-hour paid mentored internship in the industry.
